Lake Conjola

Set among the trees at Lake Conjola, this Prominda home was designed to feel calm, private and deeply connected to its coastal bushland setting.

The site itself gives the project much of its character. Positioned within an established treed block, the home sits quietly among the canopy, with the approach winding in from along a quiet country crescent and the surrounding vegetation creating a strong sense of retreat. It is the kind of location where the home needed to belong to the landscape, rather than dominate it.

The design responds with a compact, considered modular layout that makes the most of the site while respecting its natural features. The home is positioned to work with the existing driveway, garage and surrounding trees, with outdoor areas and living spaces arranged to enjoy the filtered light, privacy and relaxed atmosphere of Lake Conjola living.

From above, the project has a special quality. The drone footage looks across the treetops and gives a glimpse of the lake beyond — a reminder that this is not just a house in a coastal village, but a home tucked into one of the South Coast’s most peaceful natural environments.

The planning of the home also reflects the practical realities of building in a bushland setting. Asset Protection Zones, tree management, driveway access, water storage and site levels all formed part of the broader design response. Rather than treating those requirements as obstacles, the project shows how a modular home can be carefully placed and delivered on a sensitive site with a clear understanding of access, resilience and long-term liveability.

Architecturally, the home has a relaxed contemporary feel. Simple forms, generous glazing and clean external finishes allow the building to sit comfortably among the trees. The result is a home that feels modern without losing the warmth and informality that suits a coastal bush block.

Inside, the focus is on easy living — practical spaces, natural light and a strong connection to the outdoors. It is a home designed for quiet mornings, family visits, weekends near the water and the everyday pleasure of being surrounded by nature.

Lake Conjola demonstrates what Prominda does well: designing and delivering homes that are tailored to their site, their environment and the people who will live in them. It is coastal, practical, peaceful and unmistakably connected to place.
