Bungonia
Set among the rolling paddocks and wide skies of the Goulburn-Marulan district, this Prominda home is a strong example of modular design finding its natural place in the landscape.
The home was designed as a peaceful rural haven — practical, comfortable and quietly striking. Its long, low profile sits comfortably against the open country backdrop, while the angled living wing gives the residence a sense of movement and individuality. Rather than imposing itself on the site, the home follows the land, opening out toward garden spaces, distant views and the changing moods of the surrounding countryside.
The design brings together two major modular forms, connected by a central link, creating a clear separation between shared living and private retreat areas. The living, dining and kitchen zone is generous and light-filled, positioned to take advantage of the rural outlook and to create an easy connection to the outdoors. The bedroom wing provides privacy and calm, with the master suite located at the far end of the home for a genuine sense of retreat.
Externally, the home combines dark Colorbond cladding, clean rooflines and warm feature cladding to create a modern country feel. The skillion roof form adds architectural interest while helping the building respond to the site, the climate and the expansive views. Around the home, decks and landscaped garden areas soften the built form and create natural places to sit, gather, watch the weather roll in, or simply enjoy the quiet.
This project also highlights the strength of modular building on rural sites. Built with Prominda’s steel-framed modular system, the residence was designed for durability, efficiency and long-term comfort in a climate that can bring hot summers, cold winters, wind, rain and everything in between. The home’s elevated structure, practical materials and considered orientation all contribute to a residence that feels robust without losing warmth.
What makes this build memorable is its balance. For the owners, this is more than a house in the country. It is a calm, private base — a place to enjoy the seasons, the views, the garden, the animals and the everyday peace that comes with living well away from the rush.
